Where Can You Collect From?

Scrap car collection near me is one of the questions we get asked the most. The buyers on our network, local scrap car collectors across the country, can collect from almost anywhere as long as the vehicle is accessible for a recovery vehicle. So whether your vehicle is stored at a friend or family members house, at work or in a storage compound, they can collect it. The only exception to this is if the vehicle is still at the scene of an accident, or at a service station, as our buyers do not operate in roadside recovery.

We work with a huge range of professional buyers throughout the UK. Contact us for quick, hassle free collection anywhere in the UK. Here are some of our larger collection areas.

Are There Any Areas Which You Can’t Collect From?

The buyers on our network cover all of the UK and so the majority of towns, villages and cities can be collected from. If, however, your vehicle is in a particularly remote location it may be more difficult to retrieve, however that’s not to say that our buyers won’t be able to collect it! Our buyers have an array of recovery equipment and so if you’d like to know if we have buyers who collect from your area get in contact for a no obligation quote!

My Car Is Still At The Scene Of An Accident, Can You Collect It?

Unfortunately not. Whilst the buyers on our network can retrieve vehicles from a variety of locations they do not operate in roadside assistance and therefore cannot collect vehicles from the scene of an accident.

My Car Is Not At My Home Address.

That’s ok! Our collectors can pick up vehicles from a multitude of locations. Just be sure to enter the vehicle’s postcode at the quote stage when you enter your vehicle’s details so that we can ensure that we contact relevant buyers who operate in your vehicle’s location.

Are Collections Free?

Yes. All of the buyers on our network operate with free collections as standard and so the price you are quoted for your vehicle, is the price you will receive, subject to inspection.

Will You Organise The Collection Of My Vehicle?

Yes. We want the process to be as simple as possible for you, so our in-house experts will be on hand to guide you through the process. Once you have accepted your quote we will arrange for the buyer of your vehicle to contact you and arrange collection on a date which is mutually convenient.

Does My Car Have To Be On A Public Road?

No, however it does need to be on stable ground which is accessible for a recovery vehicle. If your car is kept elsewhere or in a particularly difficult location please ensure that we are aware so that we can advise the buyer of your vehicle to bring the right recovery equipment to retrieve it.

Who Picks Up The Vehicles?

No. As long as someone’s there at the time of collection then the collector can retrieve your vehicle. The person present doesn’t have to be the registered keeper or the legal owner of the vehicle, but they will need a signed note from the vehicle owner to state that they are there acting on their behalf together with a form of photo ID (passport or driving license) and a recent utility bill which is dated within the last three months.

How Soon Can You Collect My Car?

Once you have accepted a quote for your vehicle we will arrange for the collector to contact you directly. This can take up to 48 hours but is typically the same/next day. Depending on the collector’s availability this can take anywhere from a few hours, to a few days, however our collectors aim to collect the vehicle as soon as possible and will let you know if there are any unusual delays.

Once a quote is accepted, we will send the buyer your contact details so that they can contact you directly to book in the collection of your vehicle. Scrap vehicle collections are booked on a date which is suitable for both you, and the collector, however this is usually arranged quite quickly with a few days turnaround time. The time required for retrieving your vehicle varies because each scrap vehicle is unique and various factors such as whether your vehicle is in an accessible location, whether it has keys, wheels etc can all affect how long the process will take. The buyers available on our network are all industry experts with years of experience and so the collection process will always be as streamlined as possible.

Do You Give Me A Set Time For Collection?

Our collectors are unable to give an exact time as there’s often more than one collection booked in per day and collections can take different amounts of time depending on the individual requirements for each vehicle. Which means that if they were to run to an exact schedule, delays could occur throwing the whole day out of sync. Instead the collector will provide a timeframe so that you know what time to expect them. They can also advise upon when they are nearby to give you adequate time to travel to the vehicle if it is stored elsewhere.

Should My Tyres Be Inflated?

Not always, however you should always ensure that we are aware if they are not as we’ll need to inform the buyer of your vehicle so that they bring the right recovery equipment. Please note that if we are not made aware at the initial quote stage this may affect the price in which you were originally quoted, however if this is the case we will always ensure that you are aware.
