Scrap Car Comparison is delighted to be partnering with the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) for the remainder of 2026 and into 2027. Following a hugely successful first extended partnership with Brake throughout the summer, this marks our first collaboration with RoSPA.
RoSPA’s story can be traced back to 1916 and the rising road accidents caused by blackouts during the First World War. Originally formed as the London “Safety First” Council, it became the British Industrial “Safety First” Association in 1918, before uniting as the National “Safety First” Association in 1923 and expanding into home safety in the 1930s. With strong royal support from the then Duke of York, later King George VI, it was granted the title of Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents in 1941, a badge it’s worn ever since.
Dedicated to saving lives and preventing serious injuries, it has been behind some of the most pioneering safety campaigns in the country, including the introduction of seatbelt laws and the Cycling Proficiency Test.
Every year, 16,000 people in the UK are killed as a result of accidents – that’s the equivalent of killing all the occupants of a double decker bus every single weekday. Everyone knows someone whose life has changed as a result of an accident, and RoSPA is determined to make accidents preventable and create a safer society for everyone.
