Salvage cars are pulled apart and stripped of any reusable materials before they are sent through the crusher. Yes. Once the DVLA is told the car has been scrapped, any full months of tax left on it are refunded automatically. The cheque goes to the name and address on the V5C. You’ll also want to cancel your direct debit if you pay monthly.
