We’re Supporting Brake This Summer!

Scrap Car Comparison is delighted to be partnering with Brake as our featured charity partner in the first extended partnership for our Donate-A-Car programme. Having successfully partnered with the charity several times before, we’re proud to be doing so again for the whole summer!

After we broke our own goal of achieving over £1m in charitable donations earlier this year, the team at Scrap Car Comparison have been working hard to figure out what the next chapter of this programme will look like. The first step in this new programme starts today, with the launch of our summer-long partnership with Brake, the road safety charity.

Founded in 1995, Brake’s vision is a world with zero road deaths or serious injuries, working for safe and healthy mobility for all. The charity works with local communities and organisations across the UK, making local streets safer for everyone, wherever they call home.

Brake’s vision is a world with zero road death and injury, where we can all move in a safe and healthy way, whoever we are and however we travel. Until that becomes a reality, Brake is working to stop crashes on our roads, reduce harm when a crash happens, and help every road victim get the support they need, for as long as they need it.

Every 22 minutes someone is killed or seriously injured on UK roads, including five deaths and at least that many suffering paralysis, head injury, limb loss or other life-changing injuries. More than 4,000 families a year suffer a death or very serious injury on the roads, with under 55s accounting for 75% of deaths and serious injuries.

“There aren’t many charities that align with what we do as naturally as Brake does.
Every car that comes through Scrap Car Comparison has a history, and sadly, a lot of those histories involve unsafe situations on the road. Brake exists to prevent those situations and to be there for the people whose lives are turned upside down by road crashes. That’s a mission we feel deeply connected to.
What they’ve built over the years is remarkable; from campaigning for tougher road safety legislation to being there for victims and families who have nowhere else to turn. To be able to support that work, and get our customers behind it too, means a great deal to us.
We’ve already achieved some fantastic things together that I’m really proud of. In 2025, we worked with Brake and the University of Northampton, looking at how we get more people to wear seatbelts and encourage safer driving with the younger generations.
Since launching our charity initiative at Scrap Car Comparison, our customers have helped us raise over £1 million for brilliant causes across the UK, including Brake.
There’s huge excitement from everyone about what we can do as part of this partnership, with plenty of fundraising ideas already planned over the summer months. I’m really looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together.”

Dan Gick, Managing Director

“Our team is hugely motivated to keep the momentum going after breaking the £1m barrier earlier this year, and to start this new programme off with Brake is hugely exciting for all of us. The sales team literally deal with vehicles that have been involved in road safety issues on a daily basis, and we know first hand just how hard this can be for car owners. We’re keen to break all of our own internal records, and that means bigger donations for great causes – what’s not to love?!”
