What happens to scrap cars?
Every scrap car is taken to an Authorised Treatment Facility (ATF) to be disposed of in line with government regulations and environmental guidelines. Your car will be put through the depollution process, which sees all hazardous materials and fluids safely removed from the vehicle. The vast majority of every car scrapped is recycled. Once it’s been processed, if requested, you’ll be issued a Certificate of Destruction, your proof the car has been taken off the road for good.
What's the difference between scrap and salvage?
Scrap cars are sent straight to the scrapyard as they are, with nothing being able to be taken from it first. Salvage vehicles, on the other hand, are stripped of all of their reusable parts before being sent to the crusher. These parts are then either sold on as spares or used to repair other vehicles, which means your offers are often higher as a result.
Can you scrap my specific model of car?

Can someone else be present for the collection of my car?
Yes they can, providing they have proof you are giving permission for this and that they are over the age of 18 and have proof of ID and address. You should let our team or your buyer know this is likely to be the case so the collection runs as smoothly as possible.
Do I need to notify the DVLA when my car has been scrapped?
You should make sure the DVLA is aware that your car has been scrapped, otherwise you could end up missing out on the full amount of tax refund you could be entitled to.
