You’ll normally need the V5C logbook, photo ID and proof of your address. The collection agent checks these when they arrive, so have them ready. If something is missing, tell our team when you give your car’s details and they’ll talk you through what else will do.
Can I scrap my car without a V5C?

Yes, but it will cost you. You’ll need to apply for the plate to be put on retention via the Gov.uk website, then you’ll have to pay a fee (£80 at the time of writing) and fill in a form known as the V778 retention document. No. Another adult can handle the face-to-face collection of the vehicle with your permission. They must have valid photo ID and proof of address.
