Nissan is perhaps most associated with the Japanese modding culture found in Fast & Furious style movies, but it has also gained a reputation for strong and reliable family cars in recent years. Here’s what we’ve found on Nissan so far:
Most scrapped models
The Qashqai comfortably sits at the top of our Nissan stats, accounting for just over a third (35%) of all Nissans scrapped over the past 12 months. It’s one of our most significant victories for a single model, with the Micra next in line down at 20%. The polarising Juke sits in third having accounted for 12% of all Nissans, while the Note slots into fourth place at 10%. The X-Trail rounds out the top five at 4%.
Most scrapped year/average age
On average we’ve found that Nissans last around 17 years, which is in keeping with the national averages for most manufacturers. However, looking deeper into the data and we’ve found that there’s quite a few models that seem to only last around 10-11 years, such as the Leaf, the Pulsar, the NV400 and the Juke (which lasts 12 on average). However, offsetting this is a large number of vehicles regularly reaching 20 years, including the Micra, Almera, Primera and Kubistar.
