Jeeps are known for their reliability and their longevity, particularly with their utilitarian vehicles. However, as with all vehicles, eventually running and maintenance costs can outweigh the vehicle’s worth. But the good news is we scrap based on car weight rather than mechanical issues – ensuring you a fair and transparent price every time.

A Jeep Grand Cherokee waiting to be scrapped

This 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee had a number of warning lights on and had just failed its MOT.

Our customer got the car picked up just 48 hours after contacting us, with the price we quoted him online.

No extra fees and always with free collection.

How we price your Jeep model

When you get a quote with us we’ll use your registration plate to find all of the relevant details; model, year manufactured, weight, MOT status, estimated mileage. This gives us a good idea of whether your car needs to be scrapped or could be salvaged. If your Jeep is deemed necessary to be scrapped then we’ll check prices from the best scrap yards in your area. They’ll bid for your car based on its weight rather than condition, mileage or existing faults.

In a lot of cases we are able to salvage your car which gives you a bigger cash payment than simply scrapping it. Salvaging means finding a buyer from your car from across the UK who will either attempt to fix it or strip it for parts. Whereas scrap prices are based on your vehicle’s weight, salvage prices are based on overall condition, mileage, any existing damage and ease of repair. We accept:

Did you know: American legend inspired a British Icon

There are few things more American than a Jeep. The vehicle of choice for the US military since the Willys Jeeps of the 1940s, the look and feel of the vehicle inspired the design of the Land Rover. In fact, the Land Rover prototype was built on a Jeep chassis.

Jeep scrap trends

The durability of the Jeep needs no introduction – the workhorse of the American military needs to be able to cope with the toughest of challenges. However, things can, and do, go wrong and Scrap Car Comparison is here when it does. Here’s some interesting themes we’ve seen from scrapping thousands of Jeeps…

Most scrapped models: We mostly saw the Cherokee (35%), the rugged SUV that didn’t officially enter the UK market until 1993, although some earlier left-hand-drive imports began trickling through from the mid-1980s. We also see the Cherokee’s larger brother, the Grand Cherokee quite regularly (34%), as well as another large SUV, the Patriot (17%), which has since been discontinued.

Most scrapped year: Our most scrapped years are 2004, 2003, 2007 and then 2002. This suggests that Jeep, perhaps unsurprisingly, offers much better than average reliability, as most cars scrapped last year were originally registered in 2007.

Most scrapped locations: Popular areas where there’s a high concentration of Jeep drivers are Lancashire, the West Yorkshire, Essex and Kent.
