Most scrapped models
The popular Sportage is unsurprisingly the most common Kia we saw over the last twelve months, accounting for 22% of the Kias we scrapped. The Picanto comes in second with 19% of the share, while the Ceed narrowly comes third, accounting for 18% of all Kias we scrapped.
Most scrapped year/average age
Despite having a reputation for being a strong and reliable brand, backed up by its seven year warranty as standard, our data shows that Kias are actually not as reliable as they first seem. On average a Kia will be on the road for 14 years before it comes to us to be scrapped, two years shorter than the national average of 16. The worst performing in our list are the Niro and Stonic, both lasting six years on average. It’s worth noting that the cars were launched in 2016 and 2017 respectively, however, so a low number was to be expected. The most reliable models according to our data are the Cerato and Sedona, lasting 21 and 19 years respectively.
