Nissan stopped selling their luxury branch of vehicles, Infiniti, in the UK back in 2020, which means that the only cars on our roads these days are starting to show signs of age. As such, we don’t have huge amounts of data on Infiniti, so here’s a look at the scrapping stats for parent-company Nissan.
Most scrapped models: We mostly saw the Qashqai (37% of all scrapped models), the crossover SUV that’s been going since 2006. We see a lot of Micras too (20%), the famous hatchback that’s had a few facelifts over the years. Love it or hate it, the Juke (13%), with its divisive appearance, is also seen prominently.
When it comes to age, we can get an early generalisation about Infiniti cars. On average, Infiniti’s cars went to the scrap yard after 11 years. This is some way below the average age of any scrapped vehicle in the UK (16 years) but still means those drivers got a good decade of use from their motors.
Incidentally, Nissans made it to, on average, 16 years old before meeting the crusher.
