Both the Spark and Matiz sit at the top of the most scrapped model charts for Chevrolet. Funnily enough these are actually the same model, with the Matiz (originally a Daewoo model) eventually being renamed to the Spark following the rebrand to Chevrolet. The Aveo, Captiva and Cruze also appeared numerous times on our charts.
Most scrapped year/average age
Chevrolet sits slap bang in the middle of the national average for how long a car can go before it’s scrapped, tending to run for 16 years before being sent to the scrap pile. The Spark and Cruze were slightly less reliable, clocking in at 14 years, while some of the older Daewoo legacy models bring the average up – but that’s because the cars in general are much older so anything left on the road will be heading towards 20 as a result.
