Ever wondered what parts of a car can be recycled or how it is done? This week we want to teach our followers as to what parts of a vehicle can be recycled and a little about the processes which take place. The need to recycle car parts is very important it saves the motoring industry all the hassle of having to manufacture more of the same parts repeatedly. Car recycling facilities will take most car parts, if they don’t have the capability to recycle the parts they tend to sell on the rest of the parts.

Steel makes up the majority of the car, steel consists of iron and a list of various other products such as carbon, manganese, titanium, and a lot of other alloys. Steel is the most recycled product in the world.

According to the Department of Trade and Industry 48 million tyres were scrapped in 2004. Tyres can also be recycled and can be made into sports surfaces or safety mats. There are different regulations for traders when it comes to recycling tyres, but for the normal person it can be done through recycling centres.
Car batteries must not be recycled along with any household waste. They must be sent to either a garage, scrap metal facility, or a recycling centre. As you can see there is a lot of work that goes into recycling vehicles, it isn’t as straight forward as you think.
